Health Care

HEALING THE WHOLE CHILD

Healthcare is a primary focus of UAC Ukraine. The region hosts thousands of institutionalized young people with a wide range of medical needs. We strive to supply meaningful support in the fields of nutrition, psychology, orthopedics, reconstructive surgery, ophthalmology and dentistry. UAC has an emergency doctor on staff to respond to all urgent needs.

The number of institutionalized children is rapidly rising in Ukraine; There are over 100,000 orphaned and displaced children nationally.

UAC Ukraine and the Odessa medical community have established a unique relationship of mutual purpose and respect over more than a decade. We strive to continually support local health care providers. In turn, the medical facilities give direct attention to the orphaned and displaced children in the region.

UAC's emergency doctor, Dr. Gennady Gladkiy, monitors an orphan after surgery. Dr. Gladkiy is using a pulse oximeter which was generously donated by Nonin Medical.

The excerpt below tells a sad story about a beautiful 11 year old girl named Alya Lisunova. We honor her memory by safeguarding each child with appropriate medical attention.
