UAC'S Orphaned Teen Scholarship Program
The economic reality faced by a 17 year old being released from an orphanage is bleak. What do they do? Without help, the scenario is scary. Options include prostitution, crime, drug abuse, or suicide. With no family or stable support system, they have little hope. Our Scholarship Program is designed to prepare the teenage orphans for higher education and life management in the outside world. Click here to learn more.

January, 2012 Success Story of the Month: Lera Radziyevskaya

Lera Radziyevskaya is a class of 2007 graduate from Orphanage #4. Despite spending years in an unsafe, unstable and bleak family environment, Lera was determined to do something positive with her life. While at the orphanage, she spent several years preparing to enter Odessa Medical University where she is still a medical student today. Lera's goal is to become a doctor and help other people.
"I had been dreaming of getting on my own feet since I had heard neighbors whispering behind my back: "Who could she ever be? She was a daughter of her parents!" It was very painful that people had stereotyped and stigmatized a child."--Lera R.
