Staff in Ukraine

Over the past 15 years, UAC Ukraine has assembled a talented program staff:

Igor Shepyeta- Igor organizes construction, remodeling and continuing improvements made to all of the institutions we help support. He has grown with our program since 1995. Igor monitors the needs of 8 institutions:

  • Belgorod Orphanage #1
  • Belgorod Orphanage #2
  • Orphanage #1
  • Orphanage #3
  • Orphanage #9
  • Slobadka (mental hospital #1)
  • Alexandrovka (mental hospital #2)
  • Fontanka (boy's home facility)

Igor also works as Financial Manager of the Orphaned Teen Scholarship Program.  He is responsible for Scholarship Program budgets, distributing scholarship money to the students, and coordinating with the students about their financial needs.

Clara Pascal presents Igor Shepyeta with an award from UAC Ukraine for his service and dedication to children since 1995.

Peter Panin is Director of the UAC Orphaned Teen Scholarship Program.  He coordinates the needs of the students with help from the UAC support staff of psychologists, tutors, teachers, a doctor and a lawyer. Peter's duties include school registrations, dorm and housing arrangements, graduation preparation, educational documents, assisting with students' various legal rights and providing information for sponsors. Peter helps the Scholarship students negotiate with school heads for financial opportunities that might be available to orphans from the local government. Peter also works individually with the students to pursue their educational goals.

Alla Belaya works as Scholarship Program Coordinator.  She assists both Peter Panin and Igor Shepyeta, and works with the Scholarship students to help meet their needs.  Alla also monitors the Scholarship students as they work out their hours at different orphanages.

Peter and Alla assist each child throughout the entire college or vocational process, as a parent or guardian would. They ensure that students retain a healthy balance between their schoolwork and their part-time work for UAC in the orphanages.

Alla was in the first class of the Scholarship Program in 1998.  Her personal experience with the program makes her a great asset to the Scholarship Program staff.

Maxim Kondritsky– Scholarship Program Coordinator, assistant to Igor Shepyeta and staff driver.  Maxim monitors the Scholarship students as they work out their hours at different orphanages.  At Scholarship meetings, he ensures that the students submit their work reports and letters for sponsors.  Maxim also routinely purchases needed supplies for orphanages #4, #5 and #34.  Like Alla, Maxim was in the first class of the Scholarship Program in 1998.

Lindsay Panczak—Ukrainian Program Administrative Assistant in the United States.  Lindsay works closely with Clara Pascal and the UAC staff in Ukraine to help the UAC Ukraine programs flourish.  Her duties include volunteer coordination, establishing and maintaining sponsorships, communicating with donors, program development, marketing, fundraising, record keeping and website updates.

Support Staff

Psychologist Anastasiya Guseva counsels the 10th and 11th graders.  She prepares them for life outside the orphanage, peer pressures and gaining responsibility for their futures.  The students receive one on one, individual psychological counseling sessions as well as group therapy.

Father Sergey Cherba is a local scholar who teaches at The Odessa Seminary. He attends all of the UAC Orphaned Teen Scholarship Program meetings to offer his guidance if the teens so desire. Father Sergey also works with the children at Orphanage #34.

Pastor Bronislav Zilkovsky teaches religion and offers religious guidance to the boys at Fontanka Boy's Home facility.

Tatiana Taraschanmskaya and Alexey Tischenko are lawyers and legal representatives of the UAC Orphaned Teen Scholarship Program. They defend the rights of the orphans and work to preserve and protect the students housing rights. They also fight for the rights of those who have been discriminated or violated against.

Dr. Gennady Gladkiy- UAC's emergency doctor who is also an accomplished surgeon who treats many of our medically needy children.  Dr. Gladkiy is on call to respond to any urgent medical situations that might arise.

Vladimir Voznyuk and Vera Holostenko work at Lastochka TB (children’s tuberculosis hospital), Shelter #2 and Orphanage #7 (handicapped children). They teach Bible classes, offer psychological support and orchestrate art and music projects.

Helena Shepyeta teaches in the children's ward at Alexandrovka, a large psychiatric hospital. At Alexandrovka there is no education whatsoever offered by the State. UAC built a classroom there where Helena teaches basic skills such as reading and writing using Christian materials. Arts and crafts are also used to minister to these sensitive children. Compassion and individual attention profoundly affect everyday life in this otherwise dismal environment.

Tanya Shepyeta is UAC's music teacher. Tanya plays the piano and teaches the children praise and worship through song. Tanya works at Alexandrovka and the Institution for Mentally Challenged Children.

Oksana Puzanova gives much needed attention to the toddlers at Orphanage #1. She offers art and music projects to the delight of the littlest orphans!

Julia Panina works as a UAC translator.  She translates the Scholarship students’ monthly letters to their sponsors, as well as letters from sponsors for Scholarship students.

Irina Tishchenko also works as a UAC translator.  She translates the Scholarship students' monthly work reports.

Olya Terenko, Luba Holostenko and Lena Kistal work at the Oblast Pediatric Hospital with the abandoned infants. These women work daily to give care and tactile comfort throughout the night. These babies were previously left to scream alone.
